Não basta ter um grupo de jovens na Paróquia para que ele se caracterize como Pastoral da Juventude ou no popular como PJ.
A PJ nasceu das reflexões sobre os grupos de jovens existentes na ditadura militar que vitimou muitos deles por suas idéias de liberdade política e de expressão. Portanto a PJ tem um carater eminentemente democrático.
Esses grupos que foram fontes para a PJ são os antigos JUC,JOC...etc......originários da
Ação Católica no Brasil.
A PJ já existe a 30 anos e tem uma organização Nacional, Regional,Sub-Regional,Arquidicesana, Diocesana, Setorial, Paroquial e Comunitária,(capelas).Por isso mesmo para um grupo paroquial ou comunitário ser considerado
Pastoral da Juventude deve, em primeiro lugar, obedecer a todas essas instancias citadas acima, estar ligado a elas por meio de seus estatutos, formações, retiros e subsídios.
O grupo de PJ conta com uma organização nuclear composta de: Coordenadores,Assessores,Casal de Apoio,Formadores Religiosos,Seminaristas,Padres,Bispos,Leigos colaboradores e claro os Membros que frequentam e militam nos seus ideais.Todas as esferas da PJ contam com essa hierarquia dentre seus membros e integrantes.Tem sempre um Bispo responsável por ela e por suas atividades.
Os Retiros da PJ são marcados por tempos de reflexão, oração, partilha e por dinâmicas de grupo essenciais para se absorver os conteúdos de maneira prática.
A espiritualida da PJ é a dos pobres da terra, dos excluídos, ver Jesus Cristo nos marginalizados, por isso ela difere de movimentos mais conservadores em matéria de teologia.
Durante os retiros da PJ é possível fazer novas amizades calcadas no mesmo ideal e estar sempre perto de nossos amigos e companheiros, e daquela paquera inteligente, não é mesmo???Aliás é um espaço:JOVEM!.
Nas Foramações da PJ são inclusos temas de política, ecologia, espiritualidade da libertação,mariologia, missiologia, dentre outros.Tudo num clima descontraído. Podem fazer parte dessas formações quem realmente está ligado aos grupos da própria PJ.Existem ainda formações para equipes ainda iniciantes e grupos novos que se integram e interagem com a PJ.
Nos Subsídios da PJ podemos encontrar gende material de apoio no caso das formações, cursos, congressos promovidos pelos organizadores da PJ.
